Terms of use
Updated
ParkMap is run by Livog AB (reg. no. 559359-4251). By using parkmap.se you accept these terms. The Swedish version is binding; this English text is a translation.
What ParkMap is
ParkMap shows where you can park in Stockholm by colouring the streets according to the local traffic regulations in force at that moment. The service is free and needs no login.
ParkMap is an aid. The signs on the street and the regulations that apply there always decide what is allowed, and you are responsible for where you park.
What we are not liable for
The data comes from an automated reading of regulation texts that a person has reviewed before it is shown. Where a regulation applies comes from the municipality’s open data, and that line can sit some way from the actual parking spaces. Where we do not know what applies, the map shows nothing rather than a guess. Even so, we cannot guarantee that the data is complete, current or correctly read.
Livog AB is not liable for parking fines, control fees, towing or any other loss caused by relying on ParkMap. The service is provided as is and without warranties, to the extent the law allows. If you are a consumer, this does not affect the rights you have under mandatory law.
Open data and ParkMap’s database
The map rests on two open sources. The local traffic regulations are public and published by the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) in the national register of traffic regulations (RDT). Where each regulation applies is published by the City of Stockholm as open data. Livog AB owns neither, and these terms do not limit your right to get them from the source.
Everything ParkMap makes of those sources belongs to Livog AB: the structured reading of each regulation, the link between regulation and stretch of street, the evaluation that gives each stretch its colour, the fee data and its link to each stretch, and the review results. Building, reviewing and keeping that database current has taken a substantial investment. The database is therefore protected under section 49 of the Swedish Copyright Act (lagen (1960:729) om upphovsrätt till litterära och konstnärliga verk), Sweden’s implementation of the database right in Directive 96/9/EC.
The protection covers the database as a whole and every substantial part of it. Repeated and systematic extraction of small parts that together make up a substantial part is also an infringement.
The ParkMap name, logo, texts, design and source code also belong to Livog AB and are protected by copyright and as trade symbols.
What you may do
You may use ParkMap to find out where you can park: view the map, search addresses, share a link to a place and keep your settings in your browser. You may also use insubstantial parts of the database as section 49 of the Copyright Act allows.
Without written permission from Livog AB you may not
- extract, copy or store the database or a substantial part of it, by any means,
- scrape, crawl or otherwise read the map or the addresses it fetches its data from by automated means,
- republish, sell, license or otherwise make the content available to others,
- use the content to build a service, database or product of your own,
- use the content for text and data mining or to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine-learning models,
- remove or hide information about the source or the rightsholder.
Text and data mining reservation
Livog AB expressly reserves the right to text and data mining of parkmap.se and all content the service provides, under section 15 a, second paragraph, of the Swedish Copyright Act and Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790. The reservation applies to every purpose except research permitted by section 15 b of the Copyright Act.
The reservation is also expressed in machine-readable form: every response from parkmap.se carries the HTTP header tdm-reservation: 1 under the TDM Reservation Protocol.
Technical interfaces
The map fetches its data from addresses under parkmap.se/api. They exist so the map works in your browser and are not a public API. Calling them in any other way than through the map, or circumventing access, rate or other technical limits, is not allowed.
Want to use ParkMap’s data in a service of your own, for research or in some other way? Write to [email protected] and we will talk about a licence.
If the terms are not followed
Infringing the database entitles Livog AB to reasonable compensation for the use and to damages for the further loss the infringement causes, under chapter 7 of the Copyright Act. We may also seek an injunction under penalty of a fine and the destruction of unlawful copies. Intentional or grossly negligent infringement is also a criminal offence.
We may also cut off access to the service for anyone who breaks the terms, without notice.
Feedback you send
If you send feedback through the form in the map, Livog AB may use it freely to improve the service. How the data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may change the terms. The current version is always on this page with the date of the last change, and if you keep using ParkMap after a change you accept the new version. For material changes the map shows the terms again.
Governing law and disputes
Swedish law governs the terms. Disputes are heard by the Swedish general courts with Stockholm District Court (Stockholms tingsrätt) as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer you may also turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or to the court where you live.
